(DAYTON, OHIO)… The Greater Dayton RTA is expanding services on Sunday, Sept. 8, 2024, to better serve our customers and support economic development efforts. This expansion includes the creation of a new route, along with additional buses hitting the streets.
The RTA will launch its newest route called the West Community Connector. This route will improve service in the western parts of Montgomery County by linking seven communities without having to travel through downtown Dayton. This new route will connect with 12 other routes, three Connect On-Demand Zones and three transit centers to create better access to grocery stores, medical facilities and employment opportunities across Montgomery County. To learn more about the West Community Connector, visit www.iriderta.org/westconnector.
Other adjustments include:
Routes 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, and 12: An additional bus will be added to the morning and evening trips on weekdays to help during peak service times.
Route 18: An additional bus was added to the evening trip on weekdays and times have been shifted seven minutes later to help during peak service times.
Route 22: An additional bus will be added to the morning and evening trips on weekdays to help during peak service times. Also, Route 22 will no longer travel to Project Cure, south of Nicholas Road, along South Gettysburg Avenue.
Route 43: Routing has been expanded to serve the TJ Maxx/Marshalls distribution center on Douglas Road. Also, the 6:40 p.m. trip has been shifted to 6:30 p.m. to allow for a better connection with the downtown lineup.
