RTA adjusts service beginning May 28

(DAYTON, OHIO)… The Greater Dayton RTA periodically adjusts bus service in response to the needs of customers, communities and businesses. A service change affecting several routes will begin Sunday, May 28, 2023.

The following adjustments will be made to Routes 1, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 43 and the North Community Connector:

Route 1: The 2:34 p.m. and 3:09 p.m. westbound trips from Wright State University will now end at Wright Stop Plaza.

Route 11: The 2:51 p.m. southbound downtown express trip to Wright Stop Plaza now starts at 2:58 p.m. with complete service to Wright Stop Plaza. The 3:08 p.m. southbound trip from the Eastown Transit Center and the 2:17 p.m. northbound trip from Wright Stop Plaza have been removed. The 3:42 p.m. southbound trip will now start at 3:34 p.m.at Wright Stop Plaza continuing to the Kettering Recreational Complex. There will no longer be service to the Life Enrichment Center since the center has closed.

Route 12: The Daytona Village Apartments will only be served by northbound trips.

Route 16: The 2:17 p.m. southbound downtown express trip from Smith and Hoke roads now starts at 2:35 p.m. with complete service to Wright Stop Plaza. The 2:42 southbound trip from Smith and Hoke roads has been removed. The 1:50 p.m. and 4:14 p.m. southbound trips going to Costco have been removed. The 2:17 p.m. northbound downtown express trip from Costco at Feedwire Road now starts at 2:32 p.m. with complete service to Wright Stop Plaza. The 2:40 p.m. northbound trip from Costco at Feedwire Road to Wright Stop Plaza has been removed.

Route 17: The 2:17 p.m. northbound downtown express trip now starts at 2:28 p.m. with complete service to Wright Stop Plaza. The 1:40 p.m. southbound trip from Wright Stop Plaza and the 2:31 p.m. northbound trip from the South Transit Center have been removed.

Route 18: The 2:13 p.m. southbound downtown express trip now starts at 2:33 p.m. with complete service to Wright Stop Plaza. The 1:57 p.m. southbound trip from Wright Stop Plaza and the 2:38 p.m. southbound trip from Meijer have been removed. The 2:19 p.m. downtown express trip from First at Central now starts at 2:36 p.m. with complete service to Wright Stop Plaza. The 1:48 p.m. northbound trip from Wright Stop Plaza to Meijer and the 2:43 p.m. northbound trip from Meijer to Wright Stop Plaza have been removed.

Route 19: The 2:17 p.m. southbound downtown express trip now starts at 2:29 p.m. with complete service to Wright Stop Plaza. The 2:37 p.m. southbound trip from Meijer and the 1:59 p.m. northbound trip from Wright Stop Plaza have been removed.

Route 22: The 3:03 p.m. southbound trip from Wright Stop Plaza has been removed. The 3:05 p.m. southbound trip to the Westown Transit Center has been pushed back to 3:07 p.m. The 3:01 p.m. northbound trip from Wright Stop Plaza has been removed.

Route 43: The 6:32 p.m. northbound trip now ends at Proctor and Gamble due to low ridership. The 9 p.m. northbound trip now starts at 8:50 p.m., the 10:07 p.m. northbound trip now starts at 10:02 p.m. and the 11:34 p.m. northbound trip now starts at 11:32 p.m. The 9:37 p.m. southbound trip now starts at 9:30 p.m., 10:52 p.m. southbound trip now starts at 10:50 p.m. and the 11:54 p.m. southbound trip now starts at 11:48 p.m.

North Community Connector: The last eastbound trips leaving the Northwest Transit Center have been pushed back 10 minutes, so the 10:36 p.m. trip now leaves at 10:46 p.m.
