Use cash, credit or debit card to add funds to your Tapp Pay smartphone or smartcard account.
Option #1 – Payment Kiosks
You can get a Tapp Pay smartcard or add funds onto your Tapp Pay smartcard or smartphone using payment kiosks. Payment kiosks are located at every RTA transit center. All RTA payment kiosks accept debit or credit card. At the Wright Stop Plaza Transit Center, the payment kiosks also accept cash.
Don’t forget to KEEP YOUR CARD to ensure you always get the best value! A $2.00 fee applies when obtaining a new smartcard. A minimum $3.00 is required for all transactions but 100% of that is loaded to your account.
Option #2 – Online with the Tapp Pay Hub
If you are using a smartcard, we encourage you to create a personalized account. All you need is a valid email address and create a password, then you’re good to go. For creating a smartcard account, visit the Tapp Pay Hub. Benefits of creating a personalized account include:
Option #3 – Retail Outlets
RTA has partnered with Vanilla Direct to provide retail outlets where you can conveniently add funds to your account via cash. Over 100 locations are located within close proximity to bus routes.
Simply head to the register, tell them you want to make a Vanilla Direct payment, provide in cash the value you want to add (min $1, max $200) and they will scan the barcode on your Tapp Pay smartcard or Tapp Pay account in Transit app to add funds. Some outlets also accept debit and credit cards.
