(DAYTON, OHIO) – Bundle up and catch a front row seat to the debut of the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority’s (RTA) “Proudly Serving Miamisburg” bus in this year’s Miamisburg Community Holiday Celebration and Parade on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022.
The agency is paying tribute to the communities in Montgomery County it proudly serves with its “Proudly Serving Project,” which showcases points of interest in various cities where its buses travel. The Miamisburg bus features pictures of Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center, downtown Miamisburg, Pipestone Golf Course, Miamisburg Mound Park, and Rice Field. Its fun fact is that Miamisburg is known as “Ohio’s Star City.”
The bus will make its debut in the Miamisburg holiday parade before going into regular service throughout Montgomery County beginning Sunday, Dec. 4. Parts of Miamisburg are served by Routes 18 and 19.
This year’s Miamisburg Community Holiday Celebration and Parade festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. with the holiday parade making its way through downtown Miamisburg. This year’s theme is “Merry and Bright.” A tree-lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. in Riverfront Park. Several other holiday-themed events will happen throughout the downtown area until 8 p.m. To see a complete list of activities, visit: https://www.playmiamisburg.com/event/miamisburg-community-holiday-celeb….
The Miamisburg bus is the 10th bus added to the “Proudly Serving” fleet, joining Kettering, Trotwood, Montgomery County, Dayton, West Carrollton, Englewood, Vandalia, Centerville, and Clayton. In total, there will be 22 buses highlighting the different communities served by RTA’s traditional fixed-route bus service.
