(Dayton, OH)… For the eighth time, the Greater Dayton RTA was awarded the Auditor of the State Award for its exemplary financial reporting in accordance with statewide principles. The RTA received the award this year for its audit of the fiscal year 2019.
On January 21, Ohio Auditor Keith Faber personally presented RTA’s finance department along with CEO Mark Donaghy, Deputy CEO Bob Ruzinsky, and RTA Board President David Williamson with its award at the RTA offices in downtown Dayton.
“This award is the reflection of hard work and commitment to transparency – well done to the Greater Dayton Regional Transit Authority fiscal team for making good record keeping a priority,” Auditor Faber said.
The RTA received this award for the eighth time since 2010 – five of which were consecutive. The Auditor of the State Award is awarded to a select group of organizations across Ohio that meet strict guidelines set up by the State Auditor’s office. Each year, more than 6,000 state and local government agencies are audited across Ohio and only 5 percent of those audits qualify for the Auditor of the State Award.
“The hard work done by all RTA departments to accurately and responsibly record financial activity is part of what led to the receipt of this award,” RTA Chief Financial Officer Mary Stanforth said. “The RTA Board of Trustees, our Chief Executive Officer Mark Donaghy & Deputy CEO Bob Ruzinsky, and all directors and staff play an important role with regards to our agency’s fiscal responsibility.”
The Auditor of the State Award designation has the following criteria:
The RTA has now earned this award from the State of Ohio Auditor’s Office for 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2019.
