RTA's fare system, Tapp Pay provides an easy way to pay your fare with two options. Either with your smartphone or a smartcard. Smartcards are available at any RTA Transit Center. To access via smartphone, download the Transit app. With Tapp Pay, you’ll never pay more than the daily or monthly (31-day rolling) max fare rate. When boarding scan the mobile barcode on your phone or tap your smartcard on the payment reader. Make sure to scan or tap every time you board to ensure you always get the best value!
RTA does not accept cash on-board its vehicles. However, RTA accepts cash as a form of payment in order to add value to your Tapp Pay smartphone or smartcard account. Once a customer is known to have been provided access and information to RTA’s fare system, it is expected that prior to any boarding, they provide a valid form of payment, ensure an appropriate account balance, and/or provide proof of eligibility when obtaining a reduced fare.
RTA is not responsible for lost or stolen cards. However, if you registered your card by creating an account at www.iriderta.org/tapp-payhub, call RTA Customer Service at (937) 425-8300 to have your card blocked. Any remaining balance can be transferred to a new card by obtaining one from a payment kiosk and registering the new card to your existing account.
