(DAYTON, OHIO)… “You bring the ambition; RTA will provide the drive” – that is the slogan of the Greater Dayton RTA’s first-ever community career fair.
The agency is joining forces with its community partners and other major employers for a community career fair on May 24, 2023. The career fair will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the RTA’s concourse located at Wright Stop Plaza, 4 S. Main St., in downtown Dayton. Career opportunities include bus drivers, mechanics, health care workers, administrative and customer service positions and more!
In addition to the RTA, representatives from the City of Dayton, Montgomery County, the Dayton Veterans Administration, CenterPoint Energy, Crocs and PSA Airlines will be in attendance to speak with job seekers. Each employer is conveniently located along one of the RTA’s routes and potential employees can use the RTA to get to and from work.
Some employers, including the RTA, will be doing in-person, onsite interviews. There will also be an application station where job seekers can fill out online applications in real time. Members of the Employment Opportunity Center will be in attendance to help people with their job search.
Rides will be free systemwide on May 24. Free parking will be available in the RTA’s gated lot located next to the Wright Stop Plaza office along Third Street. If that lot is full, the RTA suggests people park in the city-owned, pay-to-park garage in the Oregon District at the corner of East Fifth and South Jefferson streets. From there, people can catch a free ride on The Flyer from the bus stop outside the garage on East Fifth Street to the bus stop on Main Street across the street from Wright Stop Plaza.
